a beautiful sunday
We treasure warm weather when it visits our city. Yesterday we celebrated blue skies and 80 degree weather, and we were sure to take advantage of it. After church we visited Punch Pizza and enjoyed kids cones at Grand Ole Creamery. And then we spent the afternoon at our neighborhood pool. I am so happy to announce that both kids liked the pool this year! Kinsey enjoyed the slides at the kiddie pool and Bryce enjoyed the lazy river. It was a wonderful way to celebrate Father's Day.
Hope you had a great weekend!

this week's vintage goods
Something magical happens when I find a new (to me) vintage piece. Most items were mass produced, but when a piece is 50, 60 or 90 years old you know it was treasured. And though I tend to specialize in mid century pieces, books and suitcases and lamps from the 1920s and 1930s make my heart flip-flop.
I love the mid century lines on this candelabra and the adjustability of its shape. And I have a weakness for brass..
The Flyaway skates were made for Sears Roebuck. They still have a touch of red on the wheels. I was drawn to the vintage Crayonex crayons box. And I like the black and white on the string.
And books. I love books! I've come across the Handyman's Book before but this one was in great shape. And a Sherwin-Williams decorator catalog from the 1950s, how could I not? Pretty confident we will keep the vintage Cabins and Beach Houses book, but the remainder of the collection I plan to list..

To be honest, the suitcase was my favorite find. But I love each piece. Let me know if you are interested in any of these items! I can list a reserved order. Otherwise I will list them slowly over the summer. Have a great weekend! So excited for warmer weather, perhaps even warm enough to head to the pool!

estate sale visit
Saturday I visited two estate sales near Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. I spent the majority of my time at the first sale and managed to snap a few photos.

I ended up with luggage from the 1920s, antique roller skates, a brass candelabra, vintage ribbon, stamps, and books. It was a beautiful home with well cared for goods. And it was a fun way to spend a Saturday morning. More photos later this week!
