neutrals + blues

In less than a week painters will be here to paint our living/dining area, stairs, and upstairs hallway. We've narrowed down our neutral color to Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray or Pale Oak. (I know I said Pale Oak last time, but I keep thinking about Edgecomb Gray...)

For our blue accent wall, we're considering Benjamin Moore van deusen blue, hale navy, and downpour blue. We don't want the wall to show up black at night but don't want it too bright.

And which neutral looks best with blue? I'm probably overthinking this, but we don't plan to repaint for several years so this is a big commitment for me! Will be buying paint this weekend!

  1. I really love edgecomb grey and had great success with both van deusen blue and downpour blue. I think I like edgecomb and Van deusen together as a pair.

  3. I like the pale oak with both Van deusen & Hale navy. If I had to pick one combo though, I'd pick pale oak with hale navy.

  4. thanks you guys! an update..i'm leaning toward pale oak--we have a beige hallway and the edgecomb gray swatch shows up really similar to our existing beige. That would be fine in most houses, but since we have wood trim a contrasting color looks better. the blue will be a surprise :)
